At that time, Samuel Mandelbaum was one of the oldest members of the Wiesbaden Jewish Community. He has been in Wiesbaden since 1947. As a board member in the 1960s, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of the new synagogue building on Friedrichstra\u00dfe. Samuel Mandelbaum was one of those who ceremoniously brought one of the Torah scrolls into the synagogue at the dedication in 1966.
