Challenges of the First Years – Samuel Mandelbaum Reports

The interview was conducted in March 2021. At that time, Samuel Mandelbaum was one of the oldest members of the Wiesbaden Jewish Community. He has been in Wiesbaden since 1947. As a board member in the 1960s, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of the new synagogue building on Friedrichstraße. Samuel Mandelbaum was one of those who ceremoniously brought one of the Torah scrolls into the synagogue at the dedication in 1966. After leaving the board, Samuel Mandelbaum remained an active and supportive member of the congregation.
